What is microblading?

Microblading places hair stokes using a manual tool. The tool has a blade consisting of tiny needles. This is then dipped in pigment. Thin slices, like paper cuts are then placed into the skin giving the effect of tiny hair stokes. This does not go as deep in to the skin as cosmetic tattooing. Pigment is placed in to the basal layer of the epidermis. It is still permanent but will fade quicker than cosmetic tattooing. Maintenance is essential to keep the brows looking their best. Microblading is best for clients that are wanting something that is very natural. Suitable for clients with little of no hair or clients just wanting to build their existing brow to give fullness, balance, symmetry and a more defined shape.

Does microblading hurt?

We all have different tolerance to pain. Some experience mild discomfort. I will make you feel comfortable throughout the procedure.

How long do the results last?

Although the pigments are permanent they do fade. How much they fade is different for everyone. Lifestyle, skin type and medication all play a part in this. Brow maintenance/colour boost is essential to maintain your shape and to keep your colour fresh.

How do you choose a colour and shape?

We choose the shape and colour together. Personal preference, skin, hair and eye colour are all taken in to consideration before selecting the perfect Colour for you. We will take time to discuss the shape that you desire. A large part of the appointment is spent measuring and drawing on the brows with pencil to ensure symmetry and balance. We will not proceed until you are completely happy with both the shape and colour choice.

What is Cosmetic tattooing?

This is a digital machine designed specifically for permanent make up. Colour is deposited in to the dermis layer of the skin. This will give the effect of shading on the skin. This can either be light, giving a soft natural powder brow, or heavy to give bold brows. This is permanent and does last longer than microblading as it goes deeper in to the skin and the colour covers more surface area on the skin in the brow area. These brows are suitable for clients with little or no hair or clients who just want to add balance, symmetry and fullness to brows. They can be as natural or as bold as you desire.

Who is suitable for Microblading and cosmetic tattooing?

A full medical history check and skin test before procedure is required to ensure that it is safe for you to proceed. As long as everything is ok with both then you are suitable to have your brows done. People with brow hair, little or no brow hair are all perfect for this.
